Vichy wasn’t a brand I was overly familiar with until quite recently, there are so many different beauty brands out there that it can get a little overcrowded on my dressing table. I was kindly sent the Fluid Foundation, the Compact Powder and Setting Powder a while ago, but I’ve had a few issues with my skin lately, so I wanted to wait and give it the best chance. You’ll have heard about me going on about how pale my skin is, so I obviously opted for the lightest shades in the range and hoped for the best.
The Vichy Dermablend Fluid Foundation and Vichy Dermablend Compact Powder are probably one shade too dark for my pasty face, and that’s really disappointing because the formula on both products is something I could see myself loving if it was the right colour. I tried them at the weekend after I’d fake tanned and they’re a much better colour match… if only I could be bothered to fake tan all the time! They’re designed to conceal and treat a number of different skin issues (uneven skin tone, blemishes, Rosacea, scarring and Vitiligo), so I was excited to see how it covered my uneven skin tone and scarring from past blemishes. The foundation is a really nice texture, similar to my Urban Decay All Nighter, but maybe not quite as long lasting – but that might be down to the primer I’m using at the moment. It does come in 11 different shades, I just wish their Porcelain was a touch lighter. The coverage is great and again, very similar to the All Nighter foundation.
The Compact Powder is probably my favourite from the three products, I’ve moved on from the stage of liking everything on my face super matte, and this powder is the perfect in between. I also loved the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder, firstly because it’s got no pigment in, so was the right colour and secondly because it’s a great setting powder. As well as being incredibly pale, my skin is seriously oily and I really struggle with keeping it at bay throughout the day, but this Setting Powder really helped to prevent it from peeking through for at least a few hours.
