The last step of my house renovation is the garden, it’s not in a good state at the moment and is in desperate need of an overhaul. I’ve been scouring Pinterest since last summer (I like to be prepared, what can I say?) – so I thought I’d share the kind of aesthetic I’m hoping to go for in case you’re in the same position as me.
So, my garden is a front garden – I live in a back-to-back and luckily got the side with a garden. It’s just over 5m long and just over 6m wide so it’s not teeny tiny but it’s on the small side of garden sizes.
It’s split in the middle with a stepping stone style paved path and the rest is currently gravel. I have a half height stone wall around the whole garden with a makeshift fence across the front and faux ivy along the sides (which has mainly fallen down with all the storms we had). The plan is to add new fence panels the whole way around, but I’ll probably do a proper ‘Garden Plan’ post when I’ve decided on the materials etc and can do a proper moodboard.
From the small garden inspiration photos below, you’ll probably be able to guess that i’ll be painting that fence black. I bought the paint last summer, I got a bit too eager and then we ran out of time and never got round to adding the fence – or doing anything to the garden.
I’ll be paving on side and adding artificial grass onto the other with a contrasting path up the middle to the front door – I’d absolutely love a Victorian tile path, but they’re crazy expensive to that plan might have to change!
I’ll be getting new furniture – currently praying for early sales to try find a bargain! Ok – enough about my plans – Small garden inspiration – let’s go:
