This Laura Mercier palette* is just plain beautiful. The texture is really tricky to describe, it’s like a creamy gel-like consistency (the shadows are made from clay) but perfect for creating more graphic styles – think… the worlds best cut-crease! The palette also includes a setting powder to add that much sought after, long lasting finish. The top 3 colours are really rich, intense colours. You’ve got a Black, a Dark Blue and an Earthy Brown. The bottom 3 are a lot more shimmery, with a beautiful Champagne, a light Silver/Blue and a Rust/Copper colour. This palette is exclusive to John Lewis until March and it’s definitely not one to be missed!
I’ve posted about my love for the Sleek Solstic palette before, it’s my fave highlighter ever. On a day to day basis, I use the Mac Mineralizing skin finish in Lightscapade as it’s just a little more subtle, but the Solstice palette is 100% my go-to for nights out and whenever I want to shine brighter than the Sun. I love the consistency and using different shades to tie in with my other makeup. I go for the warmer tone when I wear a more neutral look and the yellow or pinky tone when I’m going for something a bit more dramatic. I really love the cream version too, that’s much more of a natural finish.
This is my only Morphe palette, I know, how dare I?! It’s been the only one I’ve been able to get my hands on, they sell out quicker than hot cakes. So here is my 12S, 12 shades of shimmery goodness all in one palette. They’re super pigmented and easy to blend. I tend to go for a more matte look on my eyes, but I like to add one of these in the centre of my eyelid to add a touch of sparkle if I’m feeling fancy. It was only about £13, so a little over a £1 a shade – bargain!
This ABH Self Made palette is the most expensive makeup item I’ve ever bought myself, it was £37 and I had it a while before I even dared to use it. The colours are really pigmented and blendable. My favourite shades are Pink Champagne, Hot Chocolate and Metallic Plum. I bought this after seeing the Pink Champagne shade in action on a Makeup tutorial, and couldn’t help myself. It even comes with a double ended brush, with a fluffy blending brush on one side and a more dense blending brush on the other.
You’ll be able to see that this is 100% my most used palette. This Natural NYX 6 shade palette is definitely my favourite. I use the peachy shade to set my Creme de Rose Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo base and the darker brown shade to create a smokey line along my top lashes. It was super affordable, and it’s lasted sooo long. I love NYX as a brand, the quality far surpasses the cost, every makeup lovers dream!
