Grab yourself a Christmas Jumper, it’s probably an obvious one, but it really does make you feel festive when you look down and see Reindeer and Santa and whatever else they’ve managed to squeeze onto your cheesy Christmas jumper. This year, I’ve gone with this one from *Boohoo. It’s definitely on the less-cheesy side of Christmas jumpers, meaning I’ll be able to wear it throughout Winter, and it’s suuuuper warm and snuggly, so I will definitely be doing that.
Boohoo have a massive selection of festive jumpers, so it was hard to choose just one! Here are a few of my faves:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
You might have guessed this one from the photo above, but Step 2 in How To Feel Festive is….decorate your tree! This year is the first year I’ve had my own tree, been able to choose the colour scheme and plan it all out however I want, which to me, is incredibly exciting. I love Christmas, probably only slightly less than when I was younger. My Tree is from Asda Home, it’s pre-lit and a slim shape so it fits perfectly in my teeny tiny house.
My baubles are a mixture of Asda Home and John Lewis. I’ve gone for the pinks/ copper/ white tones to match in with my living room and tie the whole thing together. My star, which I love, but you can’t really see it against my white walls is from Barker & Stonehouse.
Watch some Christmas Films. I’m not even ashamed that I’m addicted to the Christmas24 channel on Sky. They are the cheesiest, corniest Christmas films in the world, but it really does make me feel festive. Even the bit inbetween films where it just plays a loop of a roaring fire. festive. Elf is obviously my favourite, it’s a classic and I know A LOT of the words, so I’m a joy to watch it with… Love Actually and The Holiday are my other faves, ITV2 start playing them in about October, so it does lose some of the Christmas spirit, but I’ll never stop watching them.
Listen to Christmas music. Michael Bubles Christmas album is constantly in the CD player in my car, ready for the festive season, always prepared! Obviously there’s Mariah, The Pogues, Destinys Child, Christina Aguilera and all of the others, but Buble will always make me feel the most festive. I was in a bad mood a week ago, pressed play on my CD player and instantly felt better, and I’ve got Mr Buble to thank for that. We’ve been begging for Christmas music at work since the end of November, with a lot of resistance from the guys in the office – scrooges!
The final step. EAT LOADS. The excuse “Go on… It’s Christmas” is one of my favourites, it makes me feel a lot less guilty as my hand slips into that huge box of Celebrations. Christmas food is my fave, pigs in blankets, cheese boards, chocolates, stuffing…. pretty much all of it. I’m not a huge Turkey fan, I’d much prefer Chicken, but we usually have a Turkey and a Ham on the Christmas Dinner table with ALL OF THE VEG’S, my mum does soooo many vegetables, I think we once had 14 different kinds on the table, there was no room for plates.
