When I think of Debenhams, I think of the store on Briggate in Leeds and the Beauty department (my favourite bit, obviously). Ever since I can remember, I’ve found myself wandering around that department, getting my beauty fix and looking at all the different brands on offer whenever I’ve ventured into the city. As I’ve grown up, my taste and choice of makeup brands has changed. I no longer go for the cheap and cheerful brands (well, not all the time, at least…), I tend to gravitate towards the brands that exude quality and sell premium products – brands like Estee Lauder.
I was over the moon when I saw an email from Debenhams in my inbox, asking me to review a few of their Estee Lauder products* that were part of their latest promotion. From the 8th of September to the 24th of September, whenever you buy 2 or more products (1 has to be skincare or foundation) from Estee Lauder at Debenhams you get this AMAZING free gift. Like seriously, this is definitely worth stocking up on your fave Estee Lauder bits just to get this freebie!
You get SEVEN (yes, SEVEN) products and a suuuper cute makeup bag, completely free.
So what was I most drawn to when I opened the package? – The makeup bits, obvs. Since having my eyelash extensions taken off after 2 years, I’ve been on the hunt to find the perfect mascara. So when I saw that the Estee Laude – Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Mascara
was in there, I was veeery excited. Extensions on my lashes for 2 years has made my natural ones super straight, so I don’t think this mascara was given a fair chance. It definitely did multiply and add volume, but any weight on my eyelashes undoes the years of eyelash curling I do every morning. I’m considering LVL Lashes if anyone else has had it done, please let me know!
Thought i’d do a bit of a before/after to show you how it transformed my eyelashes.
Next up is the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Long Lasting Lipstick in shade Candy
. You know how I love my nude matte lipsticks, so when this pink glossy lipstick came out of the tube, i was a little bit scared. I 100% shouldn’t have been, it’s such a rich, luxurious looking colour, and it works with my skin tone, what more could I want? It’s so comfortable to wear, unlike some of my matte shades and it went on so smoothly and effortlessly that I’m definitely considering checking out some of the other shades to add to my collection.
On to skincare! I definitely have to admit, my skincare routine is seriously lacking at the moment. I don’t seem to be able to get myself into a routine with the hundreds of products I have in my dressing table drawers, which is quite shameful to be honest but that’s all about to change, with the help of these products!
First up is the Estee Lauder Nightwear Plus Anti-Oxidant Night Detox Creme
. I had no idea how much my skin needed this until I put it on my face. It has the most beautiful, thick but lightweight, silky texture I’ve ever experienced. I put it on before I went to bed, and could still feel the hydration when I woke up 8 hours later. It helps to prevent against premature ageing (I’m 24 now, I need to use more things like this!), visibly reduces pores and helps to purify and refinish the skins surface while you sleep – magic stuff.
Also in the free gift bag from Debenhams was the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye
. Again, the consistency is just so beautiful, silky and feels like premium quality. I suffer with tired looking eyes, I don’t get enough sleep and some mornings it CLEARLY shows on my face. I’m hoping this will work its magic and help me not look so haggered. It claims to ‘re-ignite the vital, youthful-looking light that can fade due to fatigue, pollution and age’ so i’m really hoping it works! It’s also supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines, crow’s feet, dark circles, puffiness, dryness and uneven texture – so basically make you look young and beautiful, who doesn’t want that?!
Another in the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair
family is this little wonder. One thing I noticed while testing all of these products is the instant feel of quality and luxury as soon as they touched my skin, they reflect the Estee Lauder brand so well, some brands have such a big hype, that it’s more about the brand than the products, but these are definitely worth the hype! I love the idea of creams that work overnight, they work wonders while you sleep. You literally just have to slap them on your face and close your eyes – simple. This one helps with your skins natural nightly renewal, makes your skin feel smoother, hydrated and stronger all while making you look slightly younger every night!
One thing I do need to work on in my ‘skincare’ routine is how I take my makeup off. Using supermarket face wipes is not ideal, but as soon as I get into bed, all I want to do is sleep, not faf around with getting out loads of lotions and potions. I’ve tried a few different makeup remover products in the past, but have always found them too strong, making my sensitive eyes water and sting – not what you want, just before bed! That’s all changed now i’ve got the Estee Lauder Take It Away makeup remover
. It LITERALLY melts your makeup off your face, even my lashings of mascara and it was just as quick as using a face wipe. It’s a water-based creme-gel and has a beautiful herbal citrus scent. It leaves your skin feeling super soft and smooth, without that greasy feel of some other makeup removers.
And last, but by no means least, the Estee Lauder Modern Muse Body Lotion
. I’ve never actually smelt a body lotion with such a beautiful, musky scent. I’ve never actually thought about using a perfume scented body lotion before, because I didn’t think it would last as long as a regular perfume, but this one really does. I put some on my hand while shooting these photos, and not only does it make your skin beautifully soft, but the scent actually lasts so long, it’s a nice surprise whenever I put my hand near my face.
