BAKING FOR DUMMIES

The amount of mess I usually create in my kitchen when I attempt to bake is insane – everything’s covered in flour, there’s bowls everywhere and a mountain of washing up to do – not with this Bake in the Box kit from Dr. Oetker*. This is literally baking for idiots. There is zero mess, all you have to wash up is a fork (yes, just a fork) and it’s honestly the easiest thing I’ve ever made. You can get Double Chocolate (obvs my fave), Lemon & Poppyseed and Banana & Chocolate Chip. yum.

Step 1.

Open the box and pour the sachet into said box – told you it was easy…

Step 2.

Add in 100ml of milk (130ml for the Double Chocolate one) and stir with a fork until smooth.

Step 3.

Pop the box in the oven (preheated to 170 degrees)

Step 4.

Take out after 10 minutes and score a line for the centre length ways (about 1cm deep) and put back in the oven for 20-25 mins (25-30 for the Double Chocolate)

Step 5.

Take out (after sticking a knife in and making sure it’s clean when it comes out) and let cool on a wire rack.

That’s it, 5 VERY EASY steps and you’ve made a loaf cake. I’ve actually done these instructions from memory, so that gives you an idea of how easy it actually is.. No weighing ingredients, no mess, no time wasted if it doesn’t turn out how it’s supposed to – it’s foolproof. Not to mention, they taste amazing, and look like they’re supposed to with minimal effort. Don’t have time to bake? – these are for you. Don’t want to spend loads of money on ingredients? – these are for you. Don’t want to make a mess while you’re baking and have a mountain of washing up? – these are for you.

bake in the boxI got mine just in time for our annual MacMillan Coffee Morning at work and I’m pretty proud of my creations! The lovely people at Dr Oetker were kind enough to send me some goodies to decorate the cakes with, I had ideas of Bake Off style decorations, but chickened out and went for something a bit more simple and minimalist – some may say chic…

I will 100% be making these again, and I might be a bit more adventurous with the decorations… we’ll see!

The Bake in the Box sets were sent for a review from Dr Oetker.

I bet a lot of people will say these are lazy but for busy families, elderly people, or some disabled people they are brilliant! They look delicious, too.

They’re so easy to use, why create loads of mess if you don’t have to! A lot cheaper than buying all the ingredients too! They’re so tasty! x

Wow how simple are these? They would be great to have for those times that you are surprised by company and are trying to throw something together quickly while running around tidying the house hahaha
