It’s that time of year that I get really tired and want to spend every second all snuggled up in bed. I can’t justify taking any more holiday days off work (I say ‘holiday’ in the loosest sense possible – obviously I can’t afford to go on holiday) which means that I’m working 5 day weeks every week – being an adult is hard! It also means that the early mornings begin to really take their tole and there’s nothing really to look forward to until the time I get off at Christmas – yes, I just said the ‘C’ word – deal with it.
I like to get into bed a bit earlier in an attempt to wake up in the morning feeling more refreshed and ready for the day ahead. Having fresh bedding makes me sleep so much better, I wake up feeling like I’ve actually slept and I feel so much more rested – It can’t be only me who feels that way? I also get a little kick out of having made and beautiful looking bedding – really acting like a Grandma now, aren’t I? Feeling rested is something I definitely struggle with when Summer is over, so it’s good to change my routine and surroundings up a bit to see if it makes me a better morning person.
As my bedroom in the new house is nowhere near photo-ready, I borrowed my parents bedroom to show off some of the pieces I picked up as part of my Ambassador role with Studio this month.
There’s just something special about fresh white bed linen, isn’t there? It looks effortlessly luxurious and makes you want to climb right in there and amerce yourself in the crisp, white fabric. I was always apprehensive about having white bedding, mainly for stains, but I never have any trouble and any excess makeup smears come straight out in the wash, so there’s nothing to worry about.
This Catherine Lansfield Pom Pom Duvet Set is especially beautiful, with the mini pom-pom details on the pillows and through the seams on the duvet cover, it adds a bit of texture, and you know I’m all about the texture. I also picked up the matching pom pom cushions to make it look even more like a beautiful hotel bed. Throw cushions are one of my favourite parts of making my bed on a morning, it makes me feel a bit fancy – and who doesn’t love feeling fancy? I got a beautifully soft plain white fitted sheet to go with the new white bedding set, everything looks so fresh and clean.
The faux fur sheepskin rug is perfect for when you step out of bed all bleary eyed, it makes you feel instantly cosy and to be fair, it does make you want to get back into bed… but let’s pretend it adds to the motivation. Having candles in my bedroom is one of my favourite things when it starts to get a bit colder, I’m always surprised with how much heat they actually throw off and waking up to the scent of fresh linen is an absolute dream – even if my bedding isn’t out-of-the-wash fresh, it still smells amazing in my bedroom.

I was the same before investing in white bedding but now they’re my favourite. They’ve made me better at not skipping washing off all the makeup before bed, not just the eye make up 🙂

Definitely, I at least double cleanse now just to make sure there’s no makeup stains!
