If you follow me on instagram you might have seen that I’ve been working on my primary bedroom revamp over the last few weeks. It was one of the first rooms I renovated when I bought the house 3 years ago and was looking a bit tired recently so I decided to give it a little update and ticked a few things off my bedroom decor bucket list at the same time, including wall mounted bedside lights…
These are the Menu Cast Sconce wall lights from lights.co.uk… how beautiful are they?! They were designed by Tom Chung & Jordan Murphy and are without a doubt, the highest quality lights I’ve ever owned. The finish is matt black and brass, which ties in perfectly with the other metals I already have in the room. I’m so pleased with how they bring everything together and the soft light helps to create a perfectly calming bedroom.
The lights come with a cable, switch and plug as well as having the ability to wire them into the mains for a more streamline look. I decided to opt for the plug in option as it fit seamlessly into the gaps of the slat panelling I already have in my bedroom. I’m also planning on moving in the next year or two and couldn’t face leaving such beautiful lighting behind!
It’s a great option to avoid the need for an electrician or any major rewiring work, you literally just attach them to the wall and plug them in – its as easy as that! They’re a really good option for renters too (if you’re allowed to screw into your walls) as you can add them anywhere you want and you only need to fill 2 holes when you leave!
The Menu range on lights.co.uk is full of stunning pieces, everything from statement ceiling lights to beautiful standing lamps. I’ve got a fair few of them on my dream light wishlist!
Now, onto the rest of the room! I wanted to create the same soothing vibe as have in my living room (painted in Mizzle from Farrow and Ball) in my bedroom. It was originally painted in Egyptian Cotton by Dulux, which I love and would recommend to anyone, but I wanted to create something a little more sophisticated and cosy – enter Skylight by Farrow and Ball… the perfect light blue/grey and my new favourite colour! I decided to paint all of the woodwork and walls in the same eggshell finish for a seamless look and I’m just so happy with it! It feels much more grown up and is exactly what I was hoping for…a calming bedroom!
I’ve also added some new artwork from Desenio and one of my favourite sellers on Etsy, North Prints with some matching black frames from IKEA. The colours tie in beautifully with the other tones in the room and bring that sense of calm I was looking for!
I thought I’d share a few more of the great plug in wall light options available on light.co.uk to help you create the perfect calming bedroom space for all kinds of budget:
